THE army has arrested two activists of the United Peoples’ Democratic Front (UPDF) during a raid in Pagla Para village under Patachara Union in Ramgarh Upazila, Khagrachari, according to sources.
A group of army personnel from Sindukchari zone carried out the raid in the small hours today, September 14, and arrested Mongshey Pru Marma alias Sabuj, 48, and Babul Chakma alias Durjoy, 30, son of Bogra Chakma.
Both of them are UPDF members and were sleeping at a supporter’s house which the army had surrounded before taking them away.
The army placed guns in their hands and then took them to Guimara sub-zone.
Earlier, on September 01, the army had raided Sabuj’s house to arrest him. He was not at home and the soldiers harassed his son Sachimong Marma.
