Army fire blank shots at Jumma village in Ramgarh

THE army on Saturday night fired several rounds of gunshots, creating panic among the Jumma inhabitants of Boroitali and Toichakma villages in Ramgarh, Khagrachari.

According to local sources, a group of army personnel led by Major Hannan from Sindukchari zone went to Boroitoli village and about 7:45pm fired five gunshots in the air apparently to scare the Jumma people, many of whom fled their homes in fear.

After that, the soldiers headed towards Singali Para village.

Earlier, at 5pm, the same army personnel together with a group of BGB men had gone to Toichakma village and fired 10-12 rounds of gunshots in the air.
