THE army on Friday, September 2, tortured a Jumma boy during a raid at Korengatoli in Baghaichari Upazila.
According to sources, a group of army personnel led by Major Mamun from Korengatoli camp raided B-Block village in Korengatoli and searched the house of Bimal Kanti Chakma.
When they found nothing incriminating during the search, they asked Sukhen Chakma, an eighth grader of BT High School who lives with Bimal, to show them any hidden gun.
When Sukhen said he knew nothing of any hidden gun, the soldiers began beating him.
Seeing this, Bimal Chakma’s wife tried to dissuade the army from torturing him, but they paid no heed to her and even threatened her with similar torture.
