She worked as a house maid in the house of Milon Kanti Tripura, an ex-chairman of Matiranga Union, in the\u00a0village\u00a0of\u00a0Jagannath\u00a0\u00a0Mondir Para\u00a0in Matiranga.<\/div>\n<div>According to sources, on Friday night (27 September) Hafizur Islam Ripon, 26, son of Jainal Abedin of Matobbor Para under Ward No. 6 of\u00a0Matiranga\u00a0Municipality, entered the room of Namita Triprua and raped her.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Hafizur tried to flee, but Milon Kanti Tripura and his wife caught him.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>As the incident became public, Namita, daughter of late Sokendra Tripura of Ram Dayal Karbari Para, hanged herself in her room for shame.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The police have arrested Hafizur Islam, but are refusing to register a case in this connection.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u201cI went to Matiranga Thana this morning to file a case against Ripon, but the police would not register it,\u201d alleged Milon Kanti Tripura.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The police have sent the dead body to\u00a0Khagrachari\u00a0Sadar\u00a0Hospital\u00a0for post mortem examination.<br \/>\n&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8211;<br \/>\nNews No. 114\/2013.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>chtnews.com Saturday, September 28, 2013 A JUMMA woman reportedly raped by an illegal Bengali settler has committed suicide in Matiranga under Khagrachari district.
