{"id":1215,"date":"2014-06-30T15:35:56","date_gmt":"2014-06-30T09:35:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chtnews.com\/english\/?p=1215"},"modified":"2023-01-30T17:00:31","modified_gmt":"2023-01-30T11:00:31","slug":"seven-arrested-in-babuchara-bgb-case-denied-bail-again","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chtnews.com\/english\/2014\/06\/30\/seven-arrested-in-babuchara-bgb-case-denied-bail-again\/","title":{"rendered":"Seven arrested in Babuchara BGB case denied bail again"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>chtnews.com<br><\/strong>Monday, June 30,\u00ad 2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><b>The seven Jumma villagers arrested following a protest against forcible land acquisition for a BGB battalion headquarters in Dighinala have been denied bail for the forth time, court sources say.<\/b><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Cognizance Court of Magistrate Saiful Alam Chowdhury turned down their plea for bail when they were produced before the court at 12:30pm today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among these seven people are two women in their sixties and fifties and a 16-year-old school girl, who passed SSC exams this year and is waiting to be admitted to a college.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The rest are elderly men, who had no part in the protest demo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 16-year-old girl, Apsari Chakma, burst into tears when she saw her mother in the court room. She was brought in from Hathazari Samaj Seba Kendra, a reformatory centre for juvenile offenders in Chittagong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She and the other women were arrested from Khagrachari Sadar Hospital while undergoing treatment for injuries they sustained during the 10 June brutal BGB-police joint attack on them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Advocates Ashutosh Chakma, Samari Chakma, Ratan Chowdhury and Abul Hassan filed bail petitions on their behalf.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<br>News No. 44\/2014<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>chtnews.comMonday, June 30,\u00ad 2014 The seven Jumma villagers arrested following a protest against forcible land acquisition for a BGB battalion headquarters in Dighinala have been denied bail for the forth time, court sources say.
