{"id":1384,"date":"2014-10-20T08:49:59","date_gmt":"2014-10-20T02:49:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chtnews.com\/english\/?p=1384"},"modified":"2023-01-30T16:43:22","modified_gmt":"2023-01-30T10:43:22","slug":"three-more-arrested-over-theft-of-police-rifle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chtnews.com\/english\/2014\/10\/20\/three-more-arrested-over-theft-of-police-rifle\/","title":{"rendered":"Three more arrested over theft of police rifle  \u00a0"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>chtnews.com<\/strong><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"http:\/\/chtnews.com\/\"><br><\/a><\/span>Monday, October 20,\u00ad 2014<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>THREE more people, including a class eight student, have been arrested in connection with the theft of a rifle from a police personnel in Panchari.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The police arrested Sagorika Chakma, a 24-year-old Jumma woman, on Sunday morning (19 October) from Panchari bazaar and Junan Chakma alias Manek, a class eight student of&nbsp;Latiban&nbsp;Junior High School, on Saturday (18 October) from Porabari area near Kolabagan in Panchari bazaar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sagorika Chakma, wife of Gipu Chakma, is a resident of Nalkaba village, and was arrested when she went to Panchari bazaar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Junan Chakma son of Gyana Moy Chakma of Nabin Chandra Para village in Shantipur, was arrested while he was on his way to attend Kothin Chibor Dana, a Buddhist religious festival, at Logang Bana Vihara.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both of them were sent to Khagrachari jail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dighinala<br><\/strong>In Dighinala, the police arrested Zohel Chakma, 19, organizing secretary of the PCP Dighinala Thana unit, from the office of the United Peoples\u2019 Democratic Front (UPDF).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>No warrant of arrest was shown when he was taken away around&nbsp;9am&nbsp;on Sunday, 19 October.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Earlier, the police had given UPDF leaders a verbal order not to open its office in Dighinala Sadar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Zohel has a false case filed against him, but was on bail when the arrest was made.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The officer-in-charge of Dighinala police station, Shahadat Hossain Tito, told&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/chtnews.com\/\">chtnews.com<\/a>&nbsp;that Zohel was arrested on orders from higher authority and as part of a drive to recover a rifle stolen from a police personnel in Panchari.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;-<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>News No. 99\/2014<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>chtnews.comMonday, October 20,\u00ad 2014 THREE more people, including a class eight student, have been arrested in connection with the theft of a rifle from a police personnel in Panchari.
