{"id":139,"date":"2012-12-06T04:38:00","date_gmt":"2012-12-05T22:38:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chtnews.com\/english\/?p=139"},"modified":"2023-01-30T17:46:00","modified_gmt":"2023-01-30T11:46:00","slug":"four-updf-families-evicted-in-manikchari","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chtnews.com\/english\/2012\/12\/06\/four-updf-families-evicted-in-manikchari\/","title":{"rendered":"Four UPDF families evicted in Manikchari"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div dir=\"ltr\">\n<div>\n<div role=\"main\">\n<div>\n<div><i><a href=\"http:\/\/chtnews.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">chtnews.com<\/a><\/i><\/div>\n<div><i>Thursday, December 06, 2012<\/i><\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div><b>FOUR families of the United Peoples\u2019 Democratic Front (UPDF) have been evicted from their homes by military-backed Borkha Party terrorists in Manikchari under Khagrachari district.<\/b><\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>According to UPDF and other sources, on 4 December, Tuesday, at around 1pm, a group of 11 armed Borkha Party men led by Abhizan Chakma and Maya Dhan Chakma raided the villages of Mohishkhali and Dojori and forced the families of four UPDF members to leave the village.<\/div>\n<div>\u2018The terrorists forced us to come out of the house, and when we came out they smashed our house.\u2019 Alpana Chakma, wife of Shruti Mohan Chakma, who is now staying with one of her relatives in a nearby village.<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>The Borkha men also beat her and snatched her mobile handset.<\/div>\n<div>&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>\u2018They ordered us to leave the village and live elsewhere. We don\u2019t know what our fault is.
