{"id":1520,"date":"2015-02-02T15:55:39","date_gmt":"2015-02-02T09:55:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chtnews.com\/english\/?p=1520"},"modified":"2023-01-30T16:35:40","modified_gmt":"2023-01-30T10:35:40","slug":"attempted-rape-of-a-jumma-woman-in-laxmichari","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chtnews.com\/english\/2015\/02\/02\/attempted-rape-of-a-jumma-woman-in-laxmichari\/","title":{"rendered":"Attempted rape of a Jumma woman in Laxmichari"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>chtnews.com<br><\/strong>Monday, February 2, 2015<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A 27-YEAE-OLD Jumma woman has been a victim of an attempted rape by a Bengali man in Bormachari Union under Laxmichari Upazilla.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Her attacker was injured seriously when she resisted the attempt with her dao (machete).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The incident happened on Sunday, February 1, when the victim and her friends went to the jungle near Karnaphuli Tea Eastate on Bormachari-Fatikchari border to collect firewood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While the other women returned home after collecting firewood, the victim, a resident of Bot-toli Chakma Tila under Bormachari Union, was left behind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When she was on her way back home alone at about 1:15 p.m, one Md.
