THE army on Wednesday searched the houses of the leaders of the Sajek Land Protection Committee during a overnight raid in Ujo bazaar in Baghaichari Upazila under Rangamati district, according to sources.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Troops from Baghaihat zone carried out the search on March 23 at about midnight.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

They broke into the house of Gyanendu Bikash Chakma, president of SLPC, before searching every corner of it. He was not at home while his house was searched.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The army men also searched three more houses belonging to Jyoti Lal Chakma, vice president of SLPC, Bilash Chakma, head of the village, and Santu Chakma, member of the SLPC.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The soldiers found no incriminating materials during the searches, sources added.
