{"id":243,"date":"2012-05-10T06:42:00","date_gmt":"2012-05-10T00:42:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/chtnews.com\/english\/?p=243"},"modified":"2023-01-30T18:12:09","modified_gmt":"2023-01-30T12:12:09","slug":"attempted-rape-of-a-school-girl-one-arrested","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chtnews.com\/english\/2012\/05\/10\/attempted-rape-of-a-school-girl-one-arrested\/","title":{"rendered":"Attempted rape of a school girl, one arrested"},"content":{"rendered":"<div dir=\"ltr\"><i><a href=\"http:\/\/chtnews.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">chtnews.com<\/a><\/i><\/p>\n<div><i>May 10, 2012<\/i><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><b>THE police have arrested Zahirul Islam alias Zahir Driver, 23, on charges of attempting to rape a five grade Jumma student in Dighinala in Khagrachari district, report Prothom Alo and Suprobhat Bangladesh.<\/b><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\u2018He was arrested from Comilla Tila area in the Upazila yesterday, Wednesday.\u2019 the papers said in their today\u2019s edition.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Zahir is the son of late Ula Mia of Comilla Tila.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>According to the police and victim\u2019s family, the incident occurred at 3pm on Tuesday (8 May) when Zahir entered the house of the victim in the village of Pomang Para in absence of her parents and attacked her.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>But when the girl screamed, Zahir ran away.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The girl\u2019s parents said that they had gone out to collect firewood leaving their three children back home, and that when they had returned in the afternoon, the girl told them about what had happened.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Later, they filed a complaint against Zahirul Islam under Women and Children Repression Prevention Act.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Md. Anwar Hossain, assistant officer-in-charge of Dighinala police station, who is investigating the case, said, \u2018The accused has been arrested and sent to jail.
