{"id":4052,"date":"2018-04-30T09:31:00","date_gmt":"2018-04-30T03:31:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chtnews.com\/english\/?p=4052"},"modified":"2023-01-30T15:31:15","modified_gmt":"2023-01-30T09:31:15","slug":"settler-attack-on-jumma-village-in-ramgarh","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chtnews.com\/english\/2018\/04\/30\/settler-attack-on-jumma-village-in-ramgarh\/","title":{"rendered":"Settler attack on Jumma village in Ramgarh"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/chtnews.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">chtnews.com<\/a><br>Monday, April 30, 2018<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A GROUP of Bengali settlers attacked a Jumma village in Ramgarh in Khagrachari district on Sunday night, according to local sources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>About sixty to seventy settlers from Khagrabil led by Doctor Mannan carried out the attack in the village of Lalchari Sadhu Para under Ramgarh Sadar Union at 11 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They searched 14 houses for what they termed as \u2018terrorists\u2019 and destroyed one belonging to Borendra Tripura, 32, son of Bishu Kumar Tripura.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All the villagers except for one had fled their homes before the attacker reached their village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bojro Kumar Tripura, 45, son of Purno Kumar Tripura had failed to run away, and he was taken away by the attackers. He has remained missing since then.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There was no attempt on the part of the local administration to prevent the attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tension still remains high in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The sources named two other settlers who led the attack as Md. Kamal, 43, son of Ali Ashraf and Md.
