They marched from Talukder Para to Kaokhali College.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, the demonstrators were intercepted by police at College area and were refused to march through Kaokhali market place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UPDF leaders Charan Singh Tanchangya and Pulok Chakma addressed the rally of the demonstrators, condemning the killing of Jharna Dewan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They urged the administration to arrest Idris Ali and Kashem, the suspected murderers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The deceased\u2019s husband Alo Joti Dewan filed a criminal case against these two settlers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ms Jharna Dewan (33), a resident of Talukder Para, was killed while collecting firewood in a nearby jungle adjacent to a settler village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She is believed to have been murdered over a dispute over a piece of land with Idris Ali and Kashem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>chtnews.comNews No. 77\/2010, March 31, 2010 Jumma villagers staged a demonstration in Kaokhali yesterday in protest at the killing of Jharna Dewan alias Dhurungyo by Bengali settlers.
