{"id":4541,"date":"2010-04-17T20:51:00","date_gmt":"2010-04-17T14:51:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/chtnews.com\/english\/?p=4541"},"modified":"2023-02-01T20:52:42","modified_gmt":"2023-02-01T14:52:42","slug":"attempted-rape-of-a-jumma-girl-in-laxmichari","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/chtnews.com\/english\/2010\/04\/17\/attempted-rape-of-a-jumma-girl-in-laxmichari\/","title":{"rendered":"Attempted rape of a Jumma girl in Laxmichari"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>chtnews.com<\/strong><br>News No. 99\/2010, April 17, 2010<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A rape attempt was made on a Jumma girl in Bandarkaba Mukh in Laxmichari town under Khagrachari district on April 15.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Reports said a Bengali settler named Hamidullah son of Nousher Gaji of Laxmichari Guchchagram (cluster village) crept into the house of Hari Mohan Chakma at midnight and tried to rape his sister\u2019s mother-in-law Ms Kalachizi Chakma (age 40) of village Morachengi under Laxmichari Sadar UP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In his attempt to rape her, Hamidullah bit her and tore her blouse apart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When Kalachizi cried for help, other people in the house and their neighbours came to rescue her and caught Hamidullah red handed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The villagers handed him over to his elder brother Md. Azibor after giving him a sound beating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The next morning Kalachizi filed a case against Hamidullah with Laxmichari police station, but the police has not acted on it yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is alleged that ASI Md. Jahangir of Laxmichari police station is trying to force her relatives to withdraw the case.
