Humayun and Md. Ishaq \u2014 went to the Baroitali area of Jorabridge on a motorcycle from the Baghaichari Zone. Upon arrival, they fired three to four rounds of blank shots with pistols they were carrying. The sudden sound of gunfire caused panic among local residents.<\/p>\n<p>A resident of Baroitali village, who wished to remain anonymous, said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was in a rubber plantation collecting discarded rubber to use for lighting the cooking fire. At that time, two DGFI members arrived on a motorcycle and stopped by the side of the main Dighinala\u2013Baghaichari road. Then they took pistols from their waists and fired three to four blank shots. I got really scared.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>After staying there for a short while, the DGFI members reportedly left the scene on their motorcycle and headed back toward Baghaichari, the witness added.<\/p>\n<p>The reason behind firing blank shots by the DGFI in that area remains unknown.<\/p>\n<p>However, reports have recently surfaced from various locations that army personnel have been firing blank shots during so-called \u201coperations,\u201d causing public fear.
