The Democratic Youth Forum, a front organisation of the United Peoples Democratic Front, staged a demonstration in Chittagong in protest at last night’s arson attack on a Jumma village Daney Baibachara.
The Chittagong Unit of the DYF held a rally at Shaheed Minar in the city in the afternoon today.
DYF leaders Bakul Chakma and Supreme Chakma condemned the burning down of at least seven houses of the Jumma people in Sajek and urged the government to bring the culprits to justice.
The houses that set on fire are merely a few hundred yards away from a police post and Baghaichari army zone.
They also alleged that the army had also taken part in the burning down of the houses.
After the rally, they took out a procession which marched through Cinema Palace and Lal Dighi to Dost Building.
