The United Peoples Democratic Front (UPDF) has launched its Belaichari Upazila Unit office, party sources say.
At a rally held on the occasion today at Belaichari bazaar, the UPDF called for boycott of Boisabi festival next month.
Presided over by Barun Karbari, the chief of Hazachara village, the rally was also addressed by Animesh Chakma, central committee member of UPDF, Mikel Chakma, a UPDF leader, Maha Ranjan Chakma, President of DYF Jurachari Unit, Chaithoai Marma, member of Belaichari Union Council (Ward No. 5) and Sagor Chakma, convenor of DYF Belaichari Unit.
The rally, moderated by Ripan Chakma, a DYF member, followed a procession which paraded the Upazila area. About 500 people took part in the rally and the procession.
