Prominent Jumma personalities in Khagrachari have boycotted a meeting on law and order situation called by Deputy Commissioner, Mohammad Abdullah.

They boycotted the meeting in protest against the February 23 attacks on Jumma localities in the town and the DC’s biased actions in favour of the settlers.

The meeting was held today at 10am at DC Hall.

All the Jumma prominent figures who were invited to attend the meeting including Ananta Bihari Khisha and BK Roaza have abstained from attending it.

The DC also invited NGOs and socio-cultural organisations for a meeting tomorrow to discuss the celebration of Boisabi festival.

However, sources said they too will boycott the meeting. “I am not going to attend the meeting. It is useless.” an NGO executive told chtnews.com on condition of anonymity.

An office bearer of Young Star club said that he has also been invited but he will not attend.

“We have decided that I should not go.” he said.
