10:45pm: The army arrests 4 persons including a PCP leader and two activists of the Hill Women’s Federation from Naniachari office of the UPDF in Rangamati.
The arrest has been made a few minutes ago and they have been taken to Naniachar Army zone.
Three of arrested have been identified as Binoyon Chakma, president of PCP Naniachari College Unit, Juthika Chakma, convenor of HWF Rangamati District Unit and president of HWF Naniachar Upazila Unit and Rotna Chakma, a HWF member.
The name of the other arrested person could not be known. However, he is believed to be a friend of Binoyon Chakma.
The army had encircled the UPDF office since 8:30pm today. They had been accompanied by dozens of Village Defense Party (VDP) personnel.
Huge number of army personnel was also deployed at T & T area where the UPDF office was situated.
No one was allowed to move out of area during the operation.
