A LEADER of the Democratic Youth Forum has been kidnapped from Bandar area of Chittagong.
A gang of Santu group men led by Siko Chakma, Sumon Chakma and Bakul Chakma, kidnapped Adi Shankar Chakma, office secretary of the Democratic Youth Forum Bandar Thana unit, at 9:30am today from Barrister College area in Bandar Thana.
He was on way to visit Bijoy Chakma, president of DYF Bandar Thana unit, in Chittagong EPZ area.
He has been taken to Pahari Hostel at Bandel Road in Chittagong city.
Mr Chakma was earlier, on 11 March, arrested by army from Naniachar bazaar in Rangamati district for collecting donation for their organisation’s upcoming central conference.
However, he was released a few days later on bail from Rangamati jail.
DYF Chittagong City unit president Ziko Marma and Bandar Thana unit president Bijoy Chakma in a joint statement condemned the kidnapping of Adi Shankar Chakma and demanded his immediate and unconditional release.
