Attempted rape in Rangamati

A JUMMA woman (age 22) was subjected to an attempted rape in Rangamati, the Suprobhat Bangladesh, a Bengali daily published from Chittagong, and other sources said.
 The incident occurred on 12 June, at about 9am, when she, a resident of Rangapani, was on her way to Banarupa in Rangamati town.
 As she reached near District Council-run zoo, a Bengali settler from Radio Centre area, Nuruzzaman Munna, 25, grabbed her and tried to rape her.
 She screamed for help and people from nearby area rushed there and rescued her.
 They also caught Nuruzzaman and then handed him over to the police after giving him a sound beating.
 The victim later filed a case with Kotwali Thana in the town.
 The police sent Nuruzzaman to Rangamati jail.
