A BENGALI house maid was raped at Choudhury Para in Matiranga Upazila headquarters on Thursday, 7 February, the Suprobhat Bangladesh has reported.
In its today’s issue the paper said that the police had arrested Md. Abdur Rashid, 60, on the charge of raping his housemaid.
“The victim has been sent to Upazila Health Complex for medical examination”, it added.
Abdur Rashid had been physically abusing her for 4 to 5 days. When the girl objected to his immoral behviour, he threatened and tortured her.
As a last resort the girl intimated her neighbours about her plight who in their turn informed the police about it.
This led to the arrest of Abdur Rashid by SI of Matiranga Thana, Md. Ismail Hossain, at 5:30pm.
Preparations were underway to institute a criminal case, the paper further said.
