Settlers destroy farm house in Langudu

THE Bengali settlers have destroyed a farm house belonging to a Jumma in Bhaibone Chara village under Langudu Upazila of Rangamati district.

The incident occurred yesterday morning. According to sources, a group of 10-15 settlers led by Md Idris Sabur and Yunus Faraiezi dismantled the farm house of Kalachand Chakma, 65, who own 5 acres titled land around it.

The settlers claim they own this land.

In another incident the army yesterday prevented Milon Chakma of the same village from tilling his land and asked him to appear at their camp tomorrow along with documents pertaining to the said land.
