TWO activists of the Hill Students Council, better known by its Bengali acronym PCP, have been arrested by army in Boradam under Dighinala Upazila.

The PCP members – Jibon Chakma, 17, son of Nigira Chakma and Sunil Chakma, 17, son of Dev Jyoti Chakma – were arrested at noon while they were raising public donations through the sale of coupons for their organization’s central council to be held from 15 – 16 July.

Jibon Chakma is the office secretary of the Dighinala College Unit of the PCP, while Sunil is from Nareichari, sources in the PCP told chtnews.com.

A group of army personnel led by Md. Alaul Islam, a Warrant Offier, from Boradam camp, arrested them from Shonkhola Para village.

The arrested PCP members have been handed over to the police, who is said to be preparing to file a case against them for ‘extorting money’.
