THE police have arrested a leader of the Democratic Youth Forum, a front organization of the United Peoples’ Democratic Front (UPDF www.updfcht.com), from Panchari in Khagrachari district.
DYF sources have said Sushomoy Chakma, 38, son of Horendra Chakma of Tarabon-chara village was arrested at 1:15 pm on Sunday without a warrant when he went to Panchari bazaar.
Sushomoy Chakma is vice-president of the Panchari branch of the Democratic Youth Forum.
He has been taken to Panchari police station, but it could not be immediately known if any charges have been brought against him.
