ARMED men loyal to Santu Larma beat up a Jumma businessman in Baghaichari on Wednesday, according to sources.
The victim, identified as Babul Chakma, 35, from Muropara village in Dighinala Upazila, owns a logging business and went to Mogachara area of Gangaram in Baghaichari Upazila to oversee his business.
The incident took place at 9:30am, an eyewitness said, adding the armed men were led by Chinu Marma, who was injured in a gun battle in Nareichari couples of months ago.
Babul’s father Bimbisar Chakma could not say why his son was beaten up by the terrorists.
