Members of the military-backed vigilante group Borkha Party shot dead an activist of the United Peoples’ Democratic Front (UPDF) in Manikchari Sadar Union under Khagrachari district on Monday, 26 January.
The Borkha Party terrorists shot Uchimong Marma alias Babu, 18 while he was in Lafaidong Para village along with two other UPDF activists to hold a meeting with the villagers.
The incident took place at 9am when the terrorists ambushed them.
Uchimong son of Balachu Marma and a resident of Moradulu village in Batnatoli Union died on the spot while the other two UPDF activists escaped unhurt.
UPDF condemned the incident as a dastardly murder and demanded that the government takes effective steps to decommission the Borkha Party and arrest its members.
