THE SEARCH operations that the army began following the 15 March crackdown on a foot march by Dighinala Land Protection Committee is still continuing, with the troops raiding the house of a Jumma activist at Bhoirofa.
Sources said that the army personnel tried to arrest Jibon Chakma, president of Democratic Youth Forum’s Dighinala Upozila branch, after they raided their houses in the village of Bhoirofa Mukh Para in Dighinala at 10 a.m.
Jibon Chakma ran away, avoiding arrest, and the army searched the house.
The soldiers then forced the villegers out of their houses and interrogated them about UPDF activists in the area.
