ARMED MEMBERS of the Santu Group kidnapped and tortured a villager in Langudu, before releasing him under pressure from the villagers.
A group of armed men led by Pulin Chakma kidnapped Atimoy Chakma (45) from his home in Bengichara village on Sunday, 7 June and tortured him, according to villagers.
However, the Santu loyalists set him free a few hours later in the afternoon, they said.
