A military patrol operation in Ramgarh, Khagrachari has caused panic among local residents.
On Sunday evening (August 24, 2025) around 6 PM, approximately 50 army personnel from the Guimara Brigade took position at the government primary school in Boro Belchari Para. Later, around 7 PM, another group of 50 soldiers arrived there in three vehicles from the Sindukchari Zone and joined them.
This sudden military patrol has sparked fear among the locals.
Residents allege that during the patrol, soldiers interrogated motorcycle drivers and passengers. Although no one from the local community was directly interrogated, the presence of such a patrol without any clear reason has created an atmosphere of fear.
They also complain that the repeated occupation of the school by the military is disrupting students’ education and making it difficult for them to attend classes.
It has been reported that the military carried out surveillance using drones at 11 PM last night and again at 4 AM today (August 25). The army is expected to remain stationed at the school for another three days.
Currently, the military is positioned at key intersections of Boro Belchari Para Government Primary School, Salda, and Guza. Additionally, it has been reported that 14 soldiers have conducted patrols in Choto Belchari Para and Toichakma Para.
It needs to be mentioned here that on August 14, around 35 soldiers from the Batnatoli Camp had previously stationed themselves at the Boro Belchhari Para Government Primary School.
