The Bangladesh Army used batons and opened fire on angry locals in the Kalapani area of Guimara, while attempting to rescue armed vigilantes who had been captured by the public after engaging in terrorist activities in Tabla Para, Batnatali Union, Manikchhari upazila, Khagrachhari. Several people were njured during the incident.

According to reports, on Sunday morning (September 7, 2025), a group of six armed, masked vigilantes entered Tabla Para and began engaging in terrorist activities, but were caught by local residents. Later, a large contingent of army personnel arrived at the scene to rescue them. Despite the locals’ protests and demonstrations, after a prolonged effort, the army managed to retrieve the militants from the crowd.

Later in the afternoon, while the army was transporting the militants by vehicle, angry residents in the Kalapani area of Hafchhari Union, Guimara upazila, blocked the road and protested against the transportation of the militants.

At one point, the army charged at the crowd with batons and opened fire to disperse them. Several individuals were reported injured. As of the time of this report, tension remains high in the area.
