In another reported raid, army personnel allegedly looted Tk 7,000 after searching four homes in Katarai Para of Moratila, under Ultachari Union, Panchari Upazila, Khagrachari district.
According to sources, early today (Tuesday, 16 September 2025) around 2:00 AM, a group of 50 to 55 army personnel arrived in Katarai Para in four vehicles from the Panchari sub-zone. At that time, the army allegedly conducted searches at least four villagers’ homes.
During the searches, the army reportedly asked questions such as: “Where is the gun? Bring it out. Where is UPDF member Shanto Tripura? Where does he live?” according to those affected.
The villagers whose homes were raided are:
- Palash Tripura (55), son of Indra Bhushan Tripura
- Petucha Tripura (50), son of Kantamoni Tripura
- Hemranjan Tripura (45), son of Ramani Tripura
- Polesh Tripura (27), son of Moshor Chikon Tripura
Among them, Palash Tripura claimed that the army looted 7,000 taka in cash from his house during the raid.
Earlier, on the morning of 14 September, the army had also conducted raids on four villagers’ homes near the Moratila bazar.
Additionally, at 7:00 AM today, 70 to 80 army personnel in seven vehicles from the Panchari sub-zone took positions in Tarabon Bhobona Center (Buddhist Meditation centre) and Jagpara. About an hour later, another group of 50 to 55 army soldiers reportedly arrived in five vehicles and took positions in Matuli Para of the Chengi Union.
