Aloron Chakma, a first-year honors student at Rangamati Government College, has been missing — allegedly abducted — since the afternoon of October 3, 2025. According to his roommate, Aloron had left his rented house to go shopping and disappeared from the Kalyanpur area of Rangamati town. A local eyewitness also claimed to have seen several people forcibly taking Aloron from a shop in Kalyanpur.

However, even after 15 days of being missing/abducted, there is still no trace of Aloron Chakma. His family is living in deep anxiety and fear for his life.

Aloron is from Hazachari village in the Ghagra Union of Kawkhali Upazila. His father is Priyodhon Chakma and his mother is Kalpana Chakma. He was a member of the local cultural group “Agmuleem Club Shilpi Gosthi” and was actively involved in various cultural activities in the area.

Although he had intended to study at the University of Chittagong, he enrolled in the Mathematics department at Rangamati Government College due to financial difficulties. He was staying in a rented house in the PTI area on TTC Road in Rangamati town, sharing the space with a roommate, and continuing his education under difficult conditions.

There are allegations that members of the JSS (Santu Larma faction) student, youth, and women’s organizations abducted Aloron. However, some members of the group have denied involvement in the incident on social media.

Furthermore, it has been alleged that when Aloron’s classmates and friends tried to organize programs to demand his safe return, leaders and activists of the JSS (Santu) student and women’s wings confiscated their mobile phones, wallets, and laptops, and issued threats — behavior that many see as evidence of their involvement in the disappearance.

After failing to find Aloron, his father Priyodhon Chakma filed a general diary (GD) at Rangamati Kotwali Police Station on October 5. However, the following day, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) allegedly summoned him to the station and, under threats and pressure, forced him to withdraw the GD.

Priyodhon Chakma himself made this claim. It is also alleged that the same day Aloron went missing, his roommate had posted something about the incident on Facebook, but the OC made him delete the post and forced him to write another post that presented the incident differently.

On October 9, Aloron’s family, relatives, classmates, and villagers from Hazachari organized a human chain protest in Kawkhali Sadar, demanding his release. The program was jointly organized by the “Agmuleem Club Shilpi Gosthi” and the local community. During the protest, Aloron’s parents held placards demanding their son’s safe return. His mother broke down in tears while speaking, pleading for her son’s safe return. His father also called on the authorities for help in bringing his son back.

Despite this public protest, the Rangamati police and administration have shown no visible initiative to rescue Aloron. The police’s silence has sparked widespread suspicion and questions among the public.

As 15 days have passed with no news of Aloron Chakma, his family, classmates, friends, and the local community remain deeply concerned for his life. They want the authorities to take proper action to locate and rescue him. They believe that if the Rangamati district administration and police take serious measures, it may be possible to find Aloron Chakma.
