The Bangladesh Army personnel have been conducting operations in Ramgarh, Khagrachari since 7 PM on Friday, October 17, 2025. On Friday evening, the army carried out operations in areas of Ramgarh Upazila including Natun Bazar, School Para, and in the border areas of Manikchari Upazila under the Jogyocholla Union. They also stayed in the area overnight.
On Saturday around 11 AM, the army conducted patrols in the Haarichara and Barotila areas of Ramgarh.
Later, at approximately 5 PM, a group of soldiers patrolled the area around the government primary school in Goiyang Para, Ramgarh.
Subsequently, the soldiers moved through the rubber plantation and took position near the Muslim Madrasa area in Natun Bazar. According to local sources, about 60 soldiers are currently present there and are preparing to spend the night.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that additional army personnel from the Kalapani Army Camp will join the operation on Sunday, October 19.
Local sources also revealed that a local representative from the Kalapani area has been summoned to the army camp, leaving him in a state of extreme fear and anxiety.
Due to the constant patrols and army operations, the general public in the area is reportedly living in fear.
A senior local resident, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said, “Soldiers are coming almost every day and conducting operations. We live in fear—worried about when our homes might be searched or someone might be taken away.”
