Locals in the Bratapara area of Ramgarh upazila in Khagrachari are living in fear due to the armed activities of the army-backed “Mottaleb Bahini” vigilante group.

According to sources, around 9:00 a.m. today (Friday, October 24, 2025), two local organizers of the UPDF — Subash Tripura and Arjun Tripura — went to the Bratapara area for organizational activities.

At approximately 12:00 noon, a group of about ten armed members of the “Mottaleb Bahini” entered the Bratapara area in a CNG (auto-rickshaw). During the raid, terrorist Dhiman Tripura held a gun to the head of a local youth, Swapon Tripura (20), and demanded to know the whereabouts of Subash Tripura and Arjun Tripura. He also tried to force Swapon to contact them via mobile phone.

However, Swapon Tripura told them that he had no contact with Subash or Arjun Tripura and did not know where they were.

Swapon further stated that, besides Dhiman Tripura, he recognized two others among the terrorists — Sullen Chakma and a Bengali man named Manju — but could not identify the rest.

Following this incident, extreme panic has spread among the residents of Bratapara.

Local people have strongly condemned such terrorist activities and demanded that swift legal action be taken against the perpetrators.
