Bengali Muslim settlers reportedly carried out an attack on hill people following a land dispute in the Headman Para area of Kamalchari in Khagrachari Sadar Upazila.
The attack took place this afternoon on Wednesday (14 January 2026), and at least five people are reported to have been injured.
According to information circulating on social media, 12 settlers from Bhuachari carried out the attack.
Among the injured, the names of Thailaong Chowdhury from Headman Para, Madhu Milan Chakma from Natun Para, and Tukshi Roy Tripura (Bimal) from Tuksi Para have been identified.
The injured have been admitted to Khagrachari Sadar Hospital. Among them, the condition of Tukshi Roy Tripura is critical, and he was sent to Chattogram in the afternoon for advanced treatment.
According to local sources, members of the Bangladesh Army and police are currently present at the scene.
