A military operation was carried out in Boro Harikaba village under Longadu Upazila in Rangamati District on Wednesday afternoon, March 25, according to local sources.
The operation took place at approximately 2:00 PM, when a team of 10 to 12 army personnel, led by Warrant Officer Ashik from the Bame Longadu Sub-Zone, entered the indigenous village. Witnesses reported that the soldiers first went to the residence of Janak Chakma, where they temporarily positioned themselves while seeking information about two individuals, identified as Suresh Chakma and Ganeshwar Chakma.
After reportedly failing to locate the houses of the two individuals, the soldiers later moved toward the Monpudi shop area, villagers said.
The purpose of the operation and the reason for searching for the two individuals could not be immediately confirmed.
Local residents stated that the presence of armed personnel and the nature of the operation created panic among indigenous villagers, raising concerns about security and safety in the area.
