A JUMMA woman has been reportedly raped by a Bengali settler in Laxmichari Upazila, according to sources.
The incident took place at 10 a. m. today, Monday. The 20-year-old was on her way back home after buying husked rice in Moghaichari when she was attacked by Md. Saiful, a Bengali settler from Moghaichari cluster village.
Mother of a child, the victim barely reached the end of Moghaichari – Ranyamachara brick-laid road when Saiful found her alone, grabbed and took her to the road-side jungle and raped her.
As she screamed for help, the miscreant ran away, and the villagers rushed there and rescued her.
The victim’s family is yet to file a case with the police.
