One detained, another villager’s home searched in Longudu

Bagngladesh Army soldiers detained a man and conducted a search at another person’s house in Longudu, Rangamati district, according to reports.

The detained person has been identified as Jyotish Kumar Chakma (60), son of the late Lamba Chakma, from Madhya Harikaba village, Ward 7, Longadu Union Parishad, Rangamati.

According to sources, today, Sunday (24 August 2025) at around 3:00 PM, a group of army personnel detained Jyotish Kumar Chakma from Bame Longadu and took him to the local Talchari School. It has been reported that he is currently being held there.

Meanwhile, the army conducted a search at the house of former local Union Parishad member Buddha Kumar Chakma. He was not at home during the search, but his wife, Nanda Devi Chakma, was present.

As of 3:50 PM, when this report was written, local residents said that a group of 30 to 35 army personnel were stationed at Talchari School.
