The Bangladesh Army conducted operations in three locations within Ramgarh and Manikchari upazilas of Khagrachari district.

Eyewitnesses in the area reported that the army used a total of eight vehicles for the operation: four in Ramgarh’s Natun Bazar, two in Ward No. 3 of Jogya Chola Union in Manikchari upazila, and two in School Para. Locals estimate that approximately 100 soldiers took part in the operation.

Although the army did not conduct house searches in the areas mentioned, they reportedly subjected local people to various forms of harassment including interrogation. Locals also alleged that some individuals were offered financial incentives in exchange for information about the United People’s Democratic Front (UPDF).
