 The army has reportedly removed and destroyed the digital signboard of the UPDF office in Ujobazar.

In the Bongoltoli and Sajek areas of Baghaichari upazila, Rangamati district, the army allegedly conducted searches at the homes of two villagers and removed and destroyed the printed digital signboard of the UPDF office located in Ujobazar.

According to reports, on Wednesday night (November 5, 2025) around 10 p.m., a group of army personnel raided Robidhan Karbari Para in Ward No. 3 of Bongoltoli Union (No. 35). During the operation, they entered the home of Dhan Mani Chakma (46), son of the late Reboti Chakma, conducted a search, and interrogated him with various questions, which amounted to harassment.

Earlier, around 9 p.m. that same night, another group of army personnel went to Ujobazar in Sajek Union and removed and destroyed the printed digital signboard of the UPDF office there.

It is noteworthy that on October 8, the army had previously tried to break open the door and enter the office.

Meanwhile, at around 2:32 a.m. the same night, another group of army personnel raided the house of Chitti Cha Chakma, son of the late Subhash Chakma, in Surung Nala village under Ward No. 4 of Sajek Union Parishad, and conducted what locals described as a harassing search.

Sources said that on November 3 and 4, army personnel had also conducted searches at several villagers’ homes in different areas of Bongoltoli Union. Since then, around 150 army personnel have been stationed in the Bongoltoli and Surung Nala areas, carrying out searches and various other activities to harass people.
