A woman was allegedly assaulted by armed terrorists of the PCJSS (Santu) group in the Choto Kattoli area of Longadu Upazila in Rangamati district, according to local sources.

The victim has been identified as Champa Devi Chakma, daughter of the late Lal Mohon Chakma and a resident of Ward No. 2 under Longadu Union No. 7.

Local sources reported that on Monday morning, March 9, 2026, a group of armed terrorists from the PCJSS (Santu) faction ordered food in the Choto Kattoli area. Later in the afternoon, the group allegedly fired several rounds of blank shots, creating panic among residents, and set fire to a hillside area known locally as Ambagan.

The armed terrorists then reportedly seized mobile phones belonging to the wife and son of Pulok Chakma, a member of the United People’s Democratic Front (UPDF). During the incident, the group also searched Champa Devi Chakma, the sister of Pulok Chakma, for a mobile phone. When she said she did not have one, the terrorists allegedly assaulted her.

Sources said Champa’s elder brother, Surya Kumar Chakma, attempted to intervene but was warned that if any evidence was found that Champa had been using a mobile phone, she would be killed.

The incident has reportedly sparked anger among local residents, who condemned what they described as inhumane actions by the armed terrorists of the Santu faction. Community members have called on Santu Larma, the leader of the PCJSS (Santu) faction, to take steps to stop such activities in the area.
