THE army has set up a makeshift camp after destroying a kassava plantation belonging to Kamalapoti Chakma, 60, at Bokri Para, Manikchari in the wake of the alleged murder of Abdul Matin, a Bengali settler on Wednesday night.

On Thursday afternoon (September 3) a group of army personnel destroyed the kassava plantation and then set up a tent over it, local sources said.

At least 25 soldiers have been staying there since then, they added.
