THE army on Monday searched two houses belonging to Jumma people in Guimara for what they said was a Bengali person wanted in a case.
According to sources, a group of army personnel led by a Captain from Guimara Region carried out the search at Darjeeling Tila in Guimara town under Khagrachari district.
The soldiers first entered the house of Mongchai Marma, 69 and searched it turning it upside down.
Then they went to another house rented by some female Jumma students (SSC candidates) and searched each and every corner of it.
However, nothing incriminating was found during the search that began at 9 am.
The soldiers misbehaved with the girls and asked such irrelevant questions as ‘Where have you been last night?’ and ‘Where are the two armed men you were seen roaming with in Guimara bazaar last night?’
