A 60-year-old Jumma villager has been tortured to death by army-backed JSS Reformist group in Itchari area, about 4 kilometers south of the district headquarters.
According to sources, Bimol Chakma was kidnapped by a group of eight armed men belonging to JSS Reformst party on Thursday, July 19, from his home in the village of Sajekpara.
However at around 7 p.m. on Friday his kidnappers left him in the courtyard of their house in a critical condition. At 9 p.m. he succumbed to his injuries.
