Sudden blank fire by the army in the Gangaram area of Sajek under Baghaichari Upazila in Rangamati has created panic among local residents.
According to local sources, around 7 p.m. on Tuesday (9 December 2025), a group of army personnel from the Lakshichari Army Camp in Gangaram fired three rounds of blank shots in an area adjacent to Ugudochari village.
Hearing the sudden gunfire, another group of soldiers from the Chadgichara Musfiq Camp rushed toward Ugudochari at high speed.
The exact reason behind the army’s firing of blank rounds is not yet known.
However, it has been reported that the incident has caused fear among ordinary people in the area.
Locals fear that such actions by the army may be an indication of some undesirable event or tension in the background.
