The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has intensified patrols in several Jumma-inhabited areas of Ramgarh in Khagrachari district. Their continuous 24-hours patrol operations have created anxiety among local residents.

According to local sources, around 9 a.m. on Wednesday (10 December 2025), a group of 20 BGB members from the Hatikheda Camp conducted a patrol in the Lichu Bagan area belonging to Md. Mottaleb in Nangelpara.

Residents allege that on the previous day, 9 December, BGB personnel fired three rounds of blank shots in the same Lichu Bagan at around 3 a.m. Later, at about 3:20 a.m., they fired two more rounds of blank shots, which triggered panic throughout the area.

The patrolling BGB members reportedly returned to their camp at around 10:30 a.m.

Additionally, on that same day, after conducting patrols in Gorukata, Kalapani, Morakoilya, and Barabelchari Para, the BGB personnel returned to the camp at around 1:30 p.m. However, another group reportedly remained in the area under the cover of darkness later that night.

These alarming patrol activities by the BGB have caused heightened concern among the local population.
