Local residents have reported growing public concern due to patrols and the presence of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members in the hilly areas of Ramgarh in Khagrachari.

According to local sources, on Saturday (3 January 2026) at around 2:30 PM, a group of 10–12 BGB members from the Khagrabil camp went out on patrol in a vehicle. They traveled through Area No. 2, crossed Alo School, and then took up position in the Gaiya Para School area.

It is not known whether this was a routine patrol by the BGB or if there was another purpose behind it.

However, due to incidents of repression and harassment at various times in the past, local residents have expressed concerns and fears.
