The United Peoples Democratic Front (UPDF) has urged all to be on guard against any conspiracy to weaken the movement by wedging a rift among the Jummas.
In an interview with chtnews.com UPDF president Prasit Bikash Khisha said a certain quarter is making all out efforts to divert the attention of the people and the international community from Sajek.
“It is trying flat out to create a different situation in CHT in which the Jummas will find themselves fighting against each other and killing each other again. But we must not allow this to happen.” he said.
Mr. Khisha said, “It is urgent that we all remain united against this evil force and stay focused on our campaign against Sajek attack.”
On unity with JSS (Santu Larma faction) he said, “UPDF stands ready to work with anybody who wants to work for the well being of the Jumma people. We don’t have any problem working with either faction of the JSS.”
The UPDF leader went on to say that his party had made repeated appeals for unity with JSS. “And we still stretch our hands of unity towards JSS (Santu faction).” he said.
Prasit Khisha thanked the overseas Jummas for displaying courage to set aside petty issues and get united against Sajek attack.
He urged them to play a greater role in effecting a broad-based unity among the Jummas at home and abroad.
