Bangladesh Army soldiers have conducted searches at four homes in Moratila, located in Ward 5 of Ultachari Union under Khagrachari’s Panchari upazila.

The raid took place early this morning, Sunday (September 14, 2025).

According to local sources, around 4:30 AM, a group of 50 to 55 army personnel arrived at the Moratila Bazar in four vehicles from the Panchari sub-zone. They then searched four nearby homes.

The homes searched belonged to the following individuals:

  1. Tapon Tripura (42), son of Rabindra Tripura
  2. Chusen Tripura (25), son of the late Chandidas Tripura
  3. Banu Tripura (widow, age 40)
  4. Khalen Tripura (22), son of Ananta Tripura

The army left for Panchari bazar after failing to find anything illegal.

Many believe that in the name of operations, searches, and interrogations, the army is psychologically harassing locals and creating an atmosphere of fear in the Chittagong Hill Tracts.

It is worth noting that just yesterday (September 13), members of the army and BGB (Border Guard Bangladesh) patrolled the areas of Babura Para, Harubil, and Borkolok in Logang Union of Panchhari, allegedly to provide security to armed members of the JSS (Santu Group). This caused panic among local residents.
