A group of Bangladesh Army personnel raided the home of national women’s football team goalkeeper Rupna Chakma’s brother in Bhuiyodam village, under Ghilachari Union of Nanyachar Upazila in Rangamati district.

It is reported that around 1:00 PM today (Wednesday, October 15, 2025), a group of 20–22 army personnel from the Kudukchari sub-zone arrived at Hajachari Mukh Government Primary School. At that time, regular classes were ongoing at the school. The sudden presence of army personnel frightened the young students.

Afterward, the soldiers entered Bhuiyodam village in an aggressive manner and interrogated local residents, causing panic among the villagers.

Once inside the village, the soldiers went toward a local meditation center (referred to as a “Bhavna Kuthir”). On their way, they raided a resident’s house.

The house belongs to Odil Chakma (29), son of the late Badhi Chakma. It is reported that he was not home during the raid; only his wife, Usha Chakma, was present.

Usha Chakma said that during the search, the soldiers took her mobile phone, checked it, and later returned it.

The man whose house was searched is the elder brother of Rupna Chakma, the goalkeeper of the Bangladesh women’s national football team.

After completing the search, the soldiers wandered around the meditation center area for a while and then returned to Hajachari Mukh Government Primary School, where they are currently stationed, according to locals.
